u12 team goes to the finals

The U12 DUSC Competitive team had an impressive showing at the 2025 Iowa Rush Championship Cup in Ankeny this past weekend. Returning for their second year at the tournament, the team entered with high expectations after taking home the medal in the Classic Division in 2024. This year, they were elevated to the more competitive Elite Grey division—a testament to their continued growth and success.

Despite the tougher competition, the team rose to the occasion, winning two of their three group stage games and advancing to the finals by winning Bracket B on point differential. Their grit and teamwork were on full display throughout the tournament. In the final match, they faced the Vision Soccer Academy, winner of Bracket A. It was an intense and evenly matched game, ending in a 2-2 draw that pushed both teams to a dramatic penalty shootout.

The shootout was a nail-biter, with both teams converting three out of five shots. Unfortunately, the final came down to a 1:1 shootout tie-breaker, where DUSC narrowly missed out on the championship. While the result was heartbreaking, we couldn’t be prouder of our players' determination, composure, and sportsmanship. Their performance this weekend shows just how far they’ve come and sets the stage for even greater success ahead.

General information-Spring 2025

Our competitive program gives families the choice when it comes to competitive soccer within our club. The Tournament Only program will be overseen by Coach Teo Jube. This year we have competitive teams for both U12 & U15. Players tried out for these teams and were selected to play in Fall of 2024.

  • Players will need the following items for each training session: soccer ball  (size 4), water bottle, soccer cleats (No football, softball or baseball cleats), and athletic attire.

  • In addition to practice, players will have the opportunity  to execute one  30 minute training session assigned by their coach, on their own time using the TECHNE app.

  • 75% Attendance is required for both practices and tournaments. Inability to fulfill a 75% commitment will result ineligibility for next year.

  • Equal playing time is not guaranteed. All players will play in each game, but minutes could potentially differ. These choices are made throughout practices and games based on, not only their performance, but also on their commitment and respect with their teammates.
