Director of Coaching: In 2019 DUSC was fortunate to hire Teo Jube as the Director of Coaching (DOC). Soon after the global pandemic hit, Teo returned to his home country where he remained for two years. In those years we’ve had many new families join the DUSC family and we recognize that some of you have never met Teo or had only brief contact with him. Teo is a tremendous asset to our club. We asked him to put together a brief bio so we can all get to know him better and appreciate all he contributes to DUSC. Teo was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He came to the United States to attend Luther College where he played soccer from 2016-2018. In 2017 he was introduced to the Decorah United Soccer Club and officially began his career as a soccer coach. Teo coached both boys and girls in varying age groups between 2017 and 2019, often coaching multiple teams and taking them to compete in tournaments in the Cedar Valley. In the Spring of 2019, Teo was appointed Assistant Director of Coaching (DOC) for the club. His responsibilities as the Assistant DOC included attending games when the DOC was unable, writing a summary and analysis of each game, and relaying this information to the DOC. When the previous DOC resigned in the summer of 2019, Teo was offered the position. As the new DOC for DUSC, Teo took the initiative to continue his coaching education and obtained his D License from the United States Soccer Federation. During this time, Teo also became the Assistant Coach for the Luther College Men’s and Women’s Soccer Team. At the height of the COVID pandemic in 2020 Teo returned home to Brazil but continued in his role as DOC for DUSC. Despite various challenges, Teo successfully organized and coordinated four seasons from afar. During this time, he also continued sharpening his coaching skills as a soccer coach for a Soccer Academy. He took this opportunity to continue his coaching education and obtained a B License from the Argentinian Football Association, one of the foremost Coaching Education Centers in the world. In the Fall of 2020, he then put his newly acquired knowledge to use by training youth soccer players in Portugal for three months. Behind the scenes the DUSC Board worked tirelessly to obtain an employment visa for Teo so he could return to the United States. Thankfully Teo’s visa application was approved this past Fall and Teo was able to return to Decorah and be physically present to fulfill his duties as DOC. Teo is committed and ready to take DUSC to the next level in developing youth soccer players and the Board is very excited to have Teo back and leading DUSC! We are very grateful and fortunate to have a Director of Coaching that has such a tremendous passion for soccer, coaching, and developing youth soccer players leading our Soccer Club. Board of Directors: The DUSC Board of Directors is made up of volunteers who are committed to the DUSC mission to provide quality recreational soccer programs for the youth of Decorah and the surrounding areas.
